Yeh mera dil, the new Don (2006), the chase is on!

Well, I came across this video last night and I really liked the song. We all know that it is a remake of the old movie, Don. But Kareena Kapoor did a great job! She accomplished the message the song was supposed to deliver: sexy, dangerous, melodius, beautiful modern women trying to trap Don.

I am die-hard fan of Shah Rukh Khan and don't get me wrong but I must say, this movie did NOT meet my expectations for him. I think it was because of his hair-do. I really didn't like the way they made him look on this movie. I really liked the movie overall but it still had so much expectations from me. Priyanka Chopra did an OK job but she fit the role much better than Shah Rukh Khan himself. Well, its a good time pass but the media did increase the build up for this debut!

Sanjaya steps up to the plate

Take a look at Sanjaya's performance in this youtube video:

And what's with the hair-do? Talk about being creative but I think he has a thing going on for him. He is just making it happen for himself. I do believe that he likes the popularity that he gets with his hair but sometimes this kind of fame can really backfire in a bad way. Hopefully, he can handle it with flair and doesn't let it get to his head. Moving on with this kind of performance, I felt that he actually is getting more and more into his music and really opening up. He has a great presence on stage with his growing confidence. The best part is when he feels and gets into his song, his performance is very explosive! Go Sanjaya...

Cowabunga - The Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles

TMNT: Photo from Warner Brothers PicturesThis brings back so many memories as a kid. I use to be a great fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) cartoon and when it came out in video game, I was the first to get it. My brothers and I would play this game until we went over several hard levels, destroying the evil guys. We would then loose before we reached the next level and then start all over again. It was a fiasco and I used to have so much fun playing this. I also have seen the Cowabunga movie that had come out. Oh, the good old days...

Well, I believe we have a latest version coming out in animation. I can't wait to see America's favorite crime-fighting heroes, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo on big screen again. They are truly one of a kind. You can read the entire history of the turtles here. Also, here is an exclusive video link: It's a clip from "TMNT". The best thing I liked about them is their comedy acts in between. I just hope that this release captures good laughs in as well as the action.

Tom Cruise in a Hitler Thriller?

Tom Cruise: Photo from Associated PressSay no more! Yes, its Tom Cruise on the headlines again and this time he is set to star in the currently untitled World War II drama. The movie is pictured around the real events surrounding a group of German generals plotting to assassinate Adolph Hitler. Even though he said "ok" to star in the movie as a lead role, no role is yet specified. However, I suspect that Tom probably won't be playing Hitler. Tom's last movie was "Mission: Impossible III".

United Artists is producing the movie and Tom Cruise is a UA co-head. So this story doesn't come as a surprise. Cruise is also starring in a United Artists production, "Lions for Lambs". This drama category movie is set to be released on November 9th of this year. The plot revolves around injuries sustained by two Army ranger behind enemy lines in Afghanistan. This sets off a sequence of events involving a congressman (Cruise), a journalist and a professor.

I was just watch the Mission Impossible's last week and I must say, Tom is a great actor. He is a star and such thriller movies suit him very well. Although, I must say, his other category super releases like "Jerry Maguire", "Top Gun", "A Few Good Men" were all huge hits. Read the full story here.

Sanjaya moves ahead...Stephanie Edwards out!!!

Photo from American Idol.comWell, its been a great day for Sanjaya, yet again. He is moving ahead in the crowd. This time it was Stephanie Edwards who was voted out of the show. I was a little surprised to see her go because she had a lovely confident voice. But as for Sanjaya, he is still in the game and the best part was they had an idol fan who was given the opportunity to come on stage and meet the idols.

She must have been a big hit in school after that! But it was a dream come true for her. She was a big fan of Sanjaya and it was very superb of the show hosts to get her on stage and bring her dream to reality. I still could picture the expression on her face when she saw Sanjaya. Like I have said earlier, I am still rooting for Sanjaya. I guess after this episode, he now knows that he has got fans and he better keep up the good work and give it its all because his fans are supporting him, ALL THE WAY! Good luck to Sanjaya and the others!

Take on Anger Management

Whiggles.com CompactNo, I am not talking about the movie. Although the movie does have Adam Sandler undergoing Anger Management therapy under the supervision of Jack Nicholson. That was a hilarious movie. 2 Thumbs up if you are a comedies junkie. But getting to the focus here, I was reading about Naomi Campbell and Boy George. Naomi, the 36-year old supermodel pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault for hitting her maid, Ana, in the back of the head with her cell phone. It seems that Ms. Campbell has a reputation for angry outbursts. Later, Ana was treated for a head injury. She was asked to do five days of community service and attend a two-day anger management program. What an embarrassment.

Its not surprising how you can let anger get the better of you. I am not saying that it cannot happen. It can happen but would an anger management program resolve it. Doing community service is definitely not the solution. Such outbursts need to be treated more effectively. Anger is caused by stress and stress can come from anything; a job, a partner, a child, etc. Here is a very nice link to a great article on the Anger subject.

George was also on the news for such a reason. He was also punished with the five-day community service sentence. While community service has always been advocated in courts, the punishment has gained a higher ground after the celebrity sentences. Yes, it is a bit funny if you can have seen the Adam Sandler's "Anger Management" movie but its is indeed not a laughing matter. Controlling your anger is a serious issue and can cause other health related problems, let alone the social ones!

Suze Orman - hit or miss?

Suze Orman. Photo from CNBC.comFor those who adore Suze (me being one of those admirers), I was rather surprised to learn that American's best known financial adviser is being looked upon as "out of touch". For starters, I know she has helped so many people regain their financial strength and has always given great financial advise to her viewers. Her latest book, "Women and Money", just hit store shelves and has been a best seller as the past books were. I feel that her show has personally helped a lot of audience with personal self-esteem issues surrounding money and finance in their lives.

This article says that she invests like a grandmother. The resources from this article are very vague and those that have said anything negative about her are not professionals in the first place. So I guess I am going to take this with a grain of salt. Personally, I love her advise and the way she makes her viewers feel about themselves in her show. She is a great women and has sound financial knowledge than others out there. I guess everyone can draw conclusions about her but I will leave that up to you. This is simply a women who does her best in trying to help others in need for some serious financial advise. She tells it like it is - that's one thing I love about her! Check out her site at Suzeorman.com.

Angelina Jolie adopts again

Jolie (left). New member of the family, Pax Thien Jolie (right)From left: AP Photo; Getty ImagesWell, Angelina is at it again. She just adopted another son, a new addition to her growing family. His name is Pax Thien Jolie. I read the report that she is going to stay at home and care for Pax until he adjusts to his new life with her. Pax is 3-years old. I did read that she has had this fascination of adopting children since she was very young. Real the full story here.

I feel that it is really amazing how she actually is doing this. With just one kid, i feel that at times, I have my hands full. Angelina has 4 kids now and it must be an overwhelming task. But then again, she can afford Nannys and I am sure she has family to help around as well. Heck, even Brad comes into the picture, doesn't he? But the good thing is that she is doing what she believes in and these days, finding someone like that is rare.

MSN.com had a special article on her and it was simply amazing to see her side of how she thinks of certain things in a different way than others. One thing she said did stand out for me, "Everyone would agree that children need to have a family, I have the ability to help children fulfill that desire. Why should I say no?" So its just simply superb. I support her as a mother and encourage her efforts to family these children. Go Jolie! Best wishes to you!

Brandon Rogers is out, Sanjaya continues on!

Brandon is out this week. It was a little sad to see him go because I felt that he had potential. Coming this far is a huge accomplishment in itself. And who says he is done. With so much exposure on TV, there could be other music artists interested in giving him a piece of their pie. So even if he is out, he still had so much going on for him. I personally would like to wish him success and good luck with his future ventures.

As for Sanjaya, he is still on! I thought he did better this time but I still feel that he doesn't feel the song while he sings it. I am really rooting for Sanjaya to become the next American idol. The hair thing is pretty cool. I believe there is a huge crowd for his hair styles. I personally like the curly hair, it just works and fits his personality. I still feel that he lacks a little self-confidence. He needs to improve a little on his vocals and give it his best when he is on stage. Good luck to him and the others who are still in the game!

Dhoom 2 - Crazy Kiya Re

This is one of the recent songs that I watched from the bollywood movie, Dhoom 2. I really liked the choreography as it has so much intensity to it. Aishwarya did a great job and Hrithik's style in this movie is also mind-blowing. I am not much of a Hrithik fan but I must say, his hairstyle was simply superb!

Aishwarya looked very different in this movie. It was great to see the duo on the big screen and as for this specific song, I must say, the girl can dance. Take a look at this song on youtube.com.

I really enjoyed the choreography and the entire theme just clicked!

Liz Hurley & Arun Nayar Wed

Liz wed Arun in a secret service arrangement on March 2nd, 2007. The wedding festivities continued in Mumbai, India. I read the reports and it seems they had a private celebration in Juhu beach (Mumbai) before they left for Jodhpur, India. It seems that there was an evening of sangeet prior to the wedding as well. It is kind of amazing how the figures have added up to around 2 million pounds for the entire expense of the wedding.

Yes, Imagine that! A wedding that took place in a palace, complete with another evening of candle-lit dinner sounds extremely romantic. Any girl would love to have such a grand wedding. But I guess this lavishness comes from the world of being on the popular side of the media screen.

And to top it all, Liz is scheduled to wear a 4000-pound pink saree that is designed by an Indian designer. Here is a link to the real story. What a fairy-tale wedding, indeed!

World Class Beauties

It's amazing how I came across this comparison of world class beauties on the msn website. This article talks about Aishwarya Rai, the indian actress. For those who do not know her, she is India's 1994 Miss World winner. She is listed in the Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World Today," as well as Hello Magazine's "Most Attractive Women in the World". She has made it on the Rolling Stone's "Hot List." She even joined actresses Catherine Deneuve and Andie MacDowell as a member of L'Oréal Cosmetics.

Check out this article as it also talks about other beauties like Beyonce, Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Halle Berry, Michelle Yeoh and many others. Penelope is known to be the Madonna of Madrid and Michelle Yeoh was born in Malaysia to Chinese-born parents. It is simply amazing how we are able to see talents so diverse and from all over the world. Sometimes, we are proud to see actors/actresses who represent our own country. But to see it all in a neat list is indeed charming!

Saif Ali Khan and Rosa split

Latest buzr has it that the favorite bollywood actor, Saif and his girlfriend has split. After a two year long relationship, the couple decided to part and Rosa has gone back home to Switzerland. We have already heard about Saif's recent heart problems and in addition to those, I guess he now has to deal with a broken heart. It seems he already has orders from his doctor to get unwound and not take in a lot of stress. That's easier said than done.

The news channels rave up on how much Saif smokes, which is an added contribution to his poor health. But with such a tragedy, it is going to be a little over-whelming. I am not a Saif Ali Khan fan so I am not oooohing and aaawwing for him and neither am I feeling sorry for his girlfriend leaving him. Heck, it could also be the other way around. But the latest I have read points to it being a bigger blow for Saif than it was for Rosa. Read more about Rosa!

I had mixed reactions when he left his wife, Amrita (Singh), but I guess if they are more happier separated then so be it. Besides, I am not here to judge him or Amrita or his now newly ex-girlfriend, Rosa. It's just my two cents!

A fresh start

This blog is going to be a joint venture between my husband, Pramod and I, to start a joint effort on blogging about movies. We are avid movie watchers and love to get the inside info about our movies, its actors and actresses.

My husband is a die hard fan of the hit TV serial, MONK. He doesn't miss an episode and we are thinking of having a special section here dedicated to none other than our 'Monk'. Talking about movie serials, we also watch the hit series 'Law and Order'. There were times when we could watch that serial all day. I guess we were thrilled by the stuff that you can learn from that serial, from what kind of people are out there, to the different crimes and the possible ways of investigating some of them.

We also watch Indian movies, bollywood films mostly. And since Mumbai is a busy city with so many happenings, we definetely would love to discuss a little about what the Indian Media headlines have to say about movies and its take on entertainment news.

Did I miss something, yes, of course! We also watch sports, preferably NBA, NFL, tennis and some NCAA games. I am sure I got most of it covered and if I left something out, then we will surely add it on subsequent future posts.
